What Did Your Investment Manager Do For You In The Last Market Decline?

A month ago the stock market dropped sharply. Investors were sitting there watching and hoping that it would come back. It did. But did your mutual fund consultant or private money manager DO anything to grow your net worth while that decline was occurring?

The facts are that most private money managers and mutual funds keep you 100% invested at all times. That means when the market drops you always get hurt. Those money managers would love to acquire more shares for you when a decline occurs, however they are simply not set up to really help in that way.

Lakeside Capital Management is different, very different. We are investment counselors. We do not invest in the same opportunities for everyone. Each portfolio is custom designed to accomplish one goal; TO PROTECT AND GROW YOUR NET WORTH.

Here are specific examples of actions we took for our clients before and after the last market decline:

* In May, before the decline, we sent a letter to all clients suggesting that the recent market gains may reverse downward. We further suggested that all clients take the time to review their current risk levels with us. We generated cash for clients who wished to lower their exposure.
* In August, following the market decline, we acquired shares of the Nasdaq 100 Market Index, a low cost way to invest in technology, for the appropriate clients. Six weeks later, this index is worth 10% more.
* We also acquired shares of Banner Bank, a local community bank, amidst the sub prime lending panic. Banner may be in banking, however, they are not in sub prime lending. Today that acquisition is worth 12% more in less than two months.

Our proprietary system suggested warning signs in May, plenty of time to respond to a risky investment climate. The systems at private money management and mutual fund companies are simply not designed to provide specialized advice. We are delighted you use our services and pleased to be viewed as different from the crowd.

Lakeside is currently accepting well qualified, new investors when accompanied by a referral from an existing wealth management client. Feel free to contact us directly at 206-324-2600.
